Ms. Hodge began her career at the St. Thomas/St. John Seventh-day Adventist School, where she served from 1983 to 1987. She then relocated to Miami, Florida, where she worked at Miami Union Academy from 1988 to 2017, serving as teacher, vice principal, and later, principal. From 2017 to 2020, she continued her leadership in education as Lead Teacher at Bethel S.D.A. School.

Her service extends beyond the classroom, having contributed to the North American Division Education Summer Committee, Southern Union Education Council, Southern Union Secondary Advisory, Southeastern Conference Executive Committee, Southeastern Conference Board of Education, and education evaluation teams for both Southern Union and Southeastern Conference.

In 2020, Ms. Hodge returned to St. Thomas to assume the role of Principal for the St. Thomas/St. John Seventh-day Adventist School. She believes learning should be a fun and exciting experience for children and is dedicated to increasing both student enrollment and the school’s academic offerings.

Renee P. Hodge is a native of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. She holds a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Oakwood College (now Oakwood University) and an M.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida International University.

OUR SCHOOL'S JOURNEY

-Renee Hodge,
Principal

It is my distinct pleasure to serve as principal of this illustrious school. As an alumna, I am honored to give back to my alma-mater, and play an active role in advancing the mission – preparing students to be ambassadors for Christ.

Our prestigious school is an accredited institution and is privileged to serve families on St. Thomas and St. John for grades K-12. We are blessed with talented faculty and staff that model the school’s motto, “Committed to Excellence.” We are committed to providing the best education for our boys and girls. In addition to incorporating Christian standards in the curriculum, we seek to promote and provide a well-rounded education. We are embracing the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) initiative. The goal is to prepare students to be globally competitive.

Our students are enthusiastic, talented, and driven. They’ve represented our school in numerous events
and competitions—and brought home many well-earned awards. Our graduates are well prepared for
success as they continue their journey in education and towards a career.
We are deeply grateful to our alumni who have generously supported the school through their time, talents, and resources. We look forward to strengthening these relationships as we continue exploring opportunities to give back. Their investment in our school community helps create opportunities for the next generation.

Those who have gone before us built a firm foundation, and we are poised to move our school forward and upward to the next level with the support of faculty, staff, family, and friends of the St. Thomas/St. John Seventh-day Adventist School. We are confident that “With God all things are possible!”
